The FA Cup’s First Round replays take place this midweek as clubs from across the country strive to make it to round two.
In an all League Two affair, Doncaster Rovers and Accrington Stanley played out a thrilling 2-2 draw at the Keepmoat Stadium, meaning they will do it all again on Tuesday night (19:45). We’ve taken a look at this replay and picked out a couple of betting selections.
Team News
Accrington’s top scorer this season Josh Andrews missed the 3-1 defeat to Crawley Town at the weekend, but there’s a chance he could return here. Korede Adedoyin started in his place, and Jack Nolan gave them an early lead, before they fell to defeat.
Meanwhile, Doncaster named an unchanged team from the FA Cup draw at the weekend, but manager Grant McCann welcomed key players Joe Ironside and Ben Close back into the squad. They could start here, as we expect a raft of changes, including Richard Wood and Tyler Roberts as McCann was left furious after his team’s 2-0 defeat.
Match Odds
Accrington Stanley are 23/20 to win this match, while Doncaster are the outsiders at 2/1. A draw can be backed at 5/2, and BTTS is available at 4/7. Meanwhile, over 2.5 goals is priced at 8/11.
Accrington Stanley to win @ 23/20
Accrington sit 8th in League Two, while Doncaster are down in 19th. Neither side is in particularly good form, but I feel on home soil, John Coleman’s men will have enough to win this one.
They were both well-beaten at the weekend, and Accy are now without a win in their last three games, but they are facing a Doncaster side who saw their mini-resurgence end this weekend with a dismal showing against AFC Wimbledon. McCann will want to prioritise escaping the drop in League Two, and they failed to win at home in the first game despite taking the lead twice. Accy can make it through here.
Accrington to win and over 2.5 goals @ 11/5
Not only do I believe that Accy will go on to win this one, I also believe we could be in for an exciting encounter. Both sides were defensively poor at the weekend, and we saw in the 2-2 draw how good both teams are going forward. It could well be another high-scoring game here as both managers look for a response to the weekend. There’s been over 2.5 goals in six of Doncaster’s last eight matches and given their shaky opponents, this should be a cracking replay.
