We’ve got a whole host of football fixtures to look forward to on Saturday afternoon, but our Football Bet of the Day comes from south Wales, where Cardiff City host Norwich City on Saturday (15:00). 

I’m absolutely staggered that Norwich City haven’t parted company with David Wagner yet. Defeat here, heading into the international break, will surely mark his final game in charge after an absolutely dismal run of form. 

The atmosphere at Carrow Road was nothing short of abysmal as Norwich went 3-0 down at home to Blackburn at the weekend, eventually losing 3-1. Boos rang out as every Rovers goal went in, and the toxicity around the club has now reached the same levels it was at when Dean Smith was in charge. 

It’s surely only a matter of time before Wagner is dismissed, while divisive Sporting Director Stuart Webber will leave the club earlier than anticipated, after this game against Cardiff. Another defeat, and he could well be taking the manager with him. 

Norwich have now lost their last four games on the bounce, and failed to win in their last six. Five of those have been defeats and now they travel to Cardiff, a team in form. The Bluebirds are on the brink of the play-offs, and they aren’t conceding goals, which is why we’ve picked them to beat Norwich to nil this weekend.

They’ve kept three clean sheets on the bounce, including recently away at Stoke, and Erol Bulut’s side are making those that tipped them to struggle this season look very silly indeed. They are now play-off contenders and having conceded just 16 goals in 15 games, have given themselves the platform for success this term. 

High on confidence, they can certainly get the better of a Norwich side that looks down and out. Wagner looks to have lost the dressing room and this is an incredibly tough place to go. Cardiff have only lost once at home so far this season, winning five of their seven league matches on home soil. By contrast, the Canaries have only won once on the road, so going by the form book and feeling around both clubs, this should be a comfortable home win.
