NFL Week 7 Picks & Predictions:
Friday – 1:20AM:
Game 1: Jaguars (+1.5) @ Saints
Picks ATS:
Adam: Jaguars
Alan: Jaguars
Jonny: Jaguars
Neil: Jaguars
Money Line: Saints 4/5 & Jaguars 21/20
Picks Straight Up:
Adam: Jaguars
Alan: Jaguars
Jonny: Jaguars
Neil: Jaguars
Comments: Week 7 already – tempus doesn’t half fugit. Lawrence of Jacksonville rides into the Caesar’s Superdome with a decent 4-2 record, to take on the 3-3 Saints.
The home side are a shade odds-on in early money line exchanges, which surprises me a little. Bar thrashing the disappointing Pats, Saints have looked a tad uncertain to me.
Jacksonville have the air of a more complete unit in my book, but I can see a tough, close affair here. Broadly, the Jags have the edge offensively, and the reverse is true when it comes to ‘D.’
Big test for the Jags, and their 25/1 Super Bowl credentials – Alan
Sunday – 18:00:
Game 2: Lions (+3.5) @ Ravens
Picks ATS:
Adam: Lions
Alan: Lions
Jonny: Lions
Neil: Ravens
Money Line: Lions 13/10 & Ravens 8/13
Picks Straight Up:
Adam: Lions
Alan: Lions
Jonny: Lions
Neil: Ravens
Comments: The Ravens were victorious in London last week against the Titans but this will be a huge test for Lamar Jackson and co. as they take on the 5-1 Detroit Lions, who currently sit comfortably top of the NFC North.
I mentioned last week that I still can’t figure out Baltimore, and I’m surprised to see them as favourites for this game as the Lions have their last four and are one of the hottest teams in the league. You could argue that their schedule has been kind to them, but let’s not forget they beat the Chiefs in Week 1. – Jonny
Game 3: Raiders (-3.5) @ Bears
Picks ATS:
Adam: Bears
Alan: Raiders
Jonny: Raiders
Neil: Raiders
Money Line: Raiders 4/7 & Bears 7/5
Picks Straight Up:
Adam: Raiders
Alan: Raiders
Jonny: Raiders
Neil: Raiders
Comments: The Bears lost at home last week to Minnesota to fall to 0-3 at Soldier Field for the season, so they’ll be desperate to make amends here.
The Raiders, meanwhile have won their last two to take their record to 3-3 for the season, although it appears that both sides will be without their first-choice quarterbacks in Jimmy Garoppolo and Justin Fields.
When it comes down to it, I still believe that the Raiders have the better playmakers in Devonte Adams and Josh Jacobs, so I fancy the Raiders to get the job done here. – Jonny
Game 4: Browns (-1.5) @ Colts
Picks ATS:
Adam: Browns
Alan: Browns
Jonny: Browns
Neil: Colts
Money Line: Browns 10/13 & Colts 11/10
Picks Straight Up:
Adam: Browns
Alan: Browns
Jonny: Colts
Neil: Colts
Comments: Result of Week 6? For me it’s gotta be the Browns shutdown of the 49ers. Yes they were missing CMC and Deebo through injury but Cleveland’s defense was legit. They hold top spot in the NFL, allowing just 200.3 yards per game. In terms of Offense, they may well have Deshaun Watson back this week. Win-win.
The Colts were walloped by the Jags last week and they seem to follow a decent result with a shocker. Gardner Minshew is not the answer and they are missing rookie QB possibly for the rest of the season. I expect turnovers galore here and a comfortable Browns win. – Adam
Game 5: Bills (-7.5) @ Patriots
Picks ATS:
Adam: Bills
Alan: Patriots
Jonny: Bills
Neil: Bills
Money Line: Bills 1/4 & Patriots 3/1
Picks Straight Up:
Adam: Bills
Alan: Bills
Jonny: Bills
Neil: Bills
Comments: Life is not good for Bill Belichick right now. This might well be the worst Patriots team in his tenure and Mac Jones is making it very clear that he’s not the answer to the problem of how to replace Tom Brady. A 64% completion percentage to go along with five TDs and seven interceptions is not going to get it done. They have no running game to speak of and the whole franchise looks listless.
They are getting 7.5 at home, which is a pretty big number. Buffalo had to battle their London hangover to just about get past the Giants on Sunday night but I fully expect they’ll up their game here and roll big – Neil
Game 6: Commanders (-1.5) @ Giants
Picks ATS:
Adam: Commanders
Alan: Giants
Jonny: Commanders
Neil: Commanders
Money Line: Commanders 4/5 & Giants 21/20
Picks Straight Up:
Adam: Commanders
Alan: Giants
Jonny: Commanders
Neil: Commanders
Comments: The Giants have lost their last four, while the Commanders snapped their three-game losing streak with a 24-16 win over the Atlanta Falcons in Week 6.
I must admit, however, that Washington seem worse than their record suggests; 3-3 is respectable for the season but I think a couple of those wins could have easily been losses.
That being said, I’m taking them all day here against a lousy Giants team who have looked woeful from the get-go. – Jonny
Game 7: Falcons (+2.5) @ Buccaneers
Picks ATS:
Adam: Buccaneers
Alan: Buccaneers
Jonny: Falcons
Neil: Buccaneers
Money Line: Falcons 6/5 & Buccaneers 20/29
Picks Straight Up:
Adam: Buccaneers
Alan: Buccaneers
Jonny: Buccaneers
Neil: Buccaneers
Comments: Two mediocre teams line up in Tampa, with the 3-2 Bucs hosting the 3-3 Falcons. Both sides are coming off disappointing losses to the Lions and Commanders respectively but this game could be huge in terms of who claims the NFC South.
Atlanta have been abject on the road, scoring just 13 points in their two losses and Desmond Ridder has looked all at sea at times. Baker Mayfield has done a decent job for Tampa Bay and I think they can squeak out a narrow win at Raymond James. – Adam
Sunday – 21:05:
Game 8: Steelers (+3.5) @ Rams
Picks ATS:
Adam: Rams
Alan: Rams
Jonny: Rams
Neil: Rams
Money Line: Steelers 13/10 & Rams 8/13
Picks Straight Up:
Adam: Rams
Alan: Rams
Jonny: Rams
Neil: Rams
Comments: Call me stupid if you want (I’ll give you a few seconds to do just that) but I still think the Rams are genuine Super Bowl contenders. They’ve been without Cooper Kupp for most of the season but he’s back now and already looking like the missing piece to their offense. At 66/1, they are a great value play.
On Sunday they are at home and are only giving up 3.5 points to a Steelers team I don’t really have much time for. This was my easiest selection of the week. I think Los Angeles win big – Neil
Game 9: Cardinals (+7.5) @ Seahawks
Picks ATS:
Adam: Cardinals
Alan: Seahawks
Jonny: Seahawks
Neil: Seahawks
Money Line: Cardinals 3/1 & Seahawks 1/4
Picks Straight Up:
Adam: Seahawks
Alan: Seahawks
Jonny: Seahawks
Neil: Seahawks
Comments: The 3-2 Seahawks entertain the 1-5 Cardinals, and are asked to concede around 7.5 on the spread, which looks about right. Arizona have been competitive in several of those losses and aren’t arguably as poor as many feared they would be at the season’s start.
One win though is one win – and a trip to Seattle won’t be a picnic. ‘Hawks for me, with Smith, Walker, Lockett and Metcalf to the fore, as per – Alan
Sunday – 21:25:
Game 10: Packers (-1.5) @ Broncos
Picks ATS:
Adam: Packers
Alan: Broncos
Jonny: Packers
Neil: Packers
Money Line: Packers 4/5 & Broncos 21/20
Picks Straight Up:
Adam: Packers
Alan: Broncos
Jonny: Packers
Neil: Packers
Comments: The Broncos put up a respectable effort against the Chiefs last week, holding them to just 19 points whilst putting up eight of their own. However, they’ve still been one of the worst teams in the league so far this season – they’re surrendering 33.3 points per contest, which has them sitting 32nd in the NFL.
The Packers come into this match off a bye week, and I feel like they’ve been unlucky in a few of their games so far this term – they lost by four against the Raiders in their last contest, as well as losing by a point against the Falcons in Week 2.
Honestly, I’m not too confident picking either team here, but I’m going to side with Green Bay to claim a narrow victory. – Jonny
Game 11: Chargers (+5.5) @ Chiefs
Picks ATS:
Adam: Chiefs
Alan: Chiefs
Jonny: Chiefs
Neil: Chiefs
Money Line: Chargers 2/1 & Chiefs 2/5
Picks Straight Up:
Adam: Chiefs
Alan: Chiefs
Jonny: Chiefs
Neil: Chiefs
Comments:
Cracking match in prospect at Arrowhead. The Chiefs for me haven’t really hit top form – yet. Despite losing their stunning and elusive receiver Tyreek Hill they still won last season’s Super Bowl.
They lost 3 regular season games – and pro-rata, they’re in similar shape right now after 6, having lost one. Elite-level mentality. Doing enough, until the burners really need to be turned up.
Fellow AFC West side LA are hugely capable, and in all their five matches thus far there’s not been more than a solitary score separating the teams.
So – with KC having top-five-rated offensive AND defensive stats thus far, despite still being hard on the bridle for me, LA can look to contribute nicely to the entertainment without leaving Kansas with anything other than a fond farewell.
-5.5 should be eminently achievable for Mahomes and company – Alan
Monday 01:20:
Game 12: Dolphins (+1.5) @ Eagles
Picks ATS:
Adam: Dolphins
Alan: Dolphins
Jonny: Eagles
Neil: Eagles
Money Line: Dolphins 11/10 & Eagles 10/13
Picks Straight Up:
Adam: Dolphins
Alan: Dolphins
Jonny: Eagles
Neil: Eagles
Comments: On to the game of the weekend and a clash between two franchises sporting identical 5-1 records. This could be a potential Super Bowl prequel and it will be fascinating to see how this one plays out.
The Dolphins have been flat-track bullies at times this year, smashing the hapless Patriots, Broncos and Panthers but then were soundly beaten by the Bills. This will be the ultimate test of their Championship credentials.
As for Philly, they’ve been far from the juggernaut they were last season and most of their wins have been by a single possession score. I’m taking the Fins to win this one and give Miami hope of winning the big one. – Adam
Tuesday 01:15:
Game 13: 49ers (-6.5) @ Vikings
Picks ATS:
Adam: Vikings
Alan: Vikings
Jonny: Vikings
Neil: Vikings
Money Line: 49ers 1/3 & Vikings 12/5
Picks Straight Up:
Adam: 49ers
Alan: Vikings
Jonny: 49ers
Neil: Vikings
Comments: This is a straight up injury-related pick. Both teams are expected to be missing key parts of their offense. Justin Jefferson will miss at least four weeks due to a hamstring issue. Arguably the most dynamic receiver in the game, that is a problem.
Last week I said I’d take the 49ers against anyone, anywhere. That I thought they were the best team in football. I still think that but I also think should Christian McCaffrey not be able to go, then he is as big a miss to an offense as any player in the National Football League.
So a lot of this comes down to who is more valuable to their QB, Jefferson or McCaffrey.
Both the star RB for the 49ers and Deebo Samuel left Sunday’s loss at Cleveland early and San Francisco’s offense ground to a halt. The Wide Receiver is expected to be fit for Monday’s game and that is a boost but as of the time of writing, the former Stanford star is looking doubtful. If he was ready to go, I’d take the favourites in a heartbeat but without him, give me the upset, even without JJ! – Neil
Season Records:
Against the Spread:
Adam: 45-48
Alan: 48-45
Jonny: 49-44
Neil: 48-45
Straight Up:
Adam: 54-39
Alan: 59-34
Jonny: 58-35
Neil: 54-39
