Team news
Poland’s October camp has been made more difficult than usual, with star striker Robert Lewandowski having not been able to make the squad due to injury. Head coach Michal Probierz will entrust a lot of responsibility to his other attacking players, such as Arkadiusz Milik and Piotr Zielinski.
The Orly are in desperate need of a good points return in these two upcoming games and after losing to Moldova 3-2 in the reverse fixture, they will need to be at their very best to come away with a win.
Over 3.5 goals @ 13/8
These two sides contested a five-goal thriller when they met before in June, a game in which Poland had a 2-0 lead. It was a huge defeat for Poland and that loss has weakened their qualification credentials. They will look to avenge that result in Warsaw on Sunday evening but without Lewandowski, the task will be difficult.
Moldova showed great character to come from behind in that game and then showed their quality to go and win the game. This rematch is a big game for both sides. Poland need to close the gap on the teams above them, as do Moldova, while a win for them would also give them more breathing space over Sunday’s opponents.
Arkadiusz Milik to score anytime @
In the absence of Lewandowski, Arkadiusz Milik will be tasked to lead Poland’s front line and carry their goal threat. He will take confidence from scoring against Moldova back in June, but he will know that it wasn’t enough to secure his team what would have been a valuable three points.
Milik, like Lewandowski, needs to improve his goal output for his national team, as that is one of the factors that has held Poland back in recent years. He heads into this match having scored twice in Serie A this term, and a huge responsibility resting on his shoulders.
