PSV vs Rangers Prediction, Odds & Betting Tips – 30 August 2023

Royal Antwerp vs AEK Athens Prediction, Odds & Betting Tips - 22nd August 2023

PSV Eindhoven and Rangers will reconvene once again at the Philips Stadion on Wednesday night (20:00) for the second leg of their Champions League playoff tie.

The two sides played out a 2-2 draw in their first-leg encounter at Ibrox, as both teams are vying for a place in the group stages.

Team News

PSV Eindhoven are set to be without the services of Mauro Junior, Armando Obispo, Patrick van Aanholt and  Fredrik Oppegard, while Andre Ramalho and Olivier Boscagli both picked up injuries during the first leg against Rangers.

As for Gers,  Steven Davis and Ridvan Yilmaz were both absent against Ross County at the weekend, and will be unavailable for this game too.

PSV to win and both teams to score @ 15/8

Rangers managed to win 1-0 at the Philips Stadion at the same stage of Champions League qualifying last season, but I think it’s highly unlikely that they repeat that success here.

Gers’ away record in Europe is generally poor – the visitors come into this game with just one win from their last nine away games in Europe. Seven of those games were defeats.

Meanwhile, PSV head into this fixture having won 12 of their last 13 home games and Peter Bosz’s side have no problem finding the back of the net, and tend to notch multiple goals no matter the occasion.

Both teams have scored in seven of PSV’s last 10 Champions League wins, but I think the Dutch giants will have enough attacking quality to edge this contest.

Luuk de Jong to score anytime @ 11/10

De Jong has a respectable record in Europe, bagging four times in the Champions League already and appeals as an anytime goalscorer option.

His late equaliser sent PSV home from Glasgow with a share of the spoils, and he’s certainly the one to watch for this game.

The former Barcelona striker has scored in each of his last three outings, and I think Rangers may have their work cut out trying to keep him quiet here.
