Bayer Leverkusen have been the standout team in this season’s Bundesliga but must put their domestic duties to one side on Thursday when they visit Qarabag in the Europa League.
Xabi Alonso’s highflyers can secure their spot in the knockout stage with a win in Azerbaijan and are unlikely to leave anything to chance.
Leverkusen can be backed at 2/5 to claim the decisive win, while Qarabag are 11/2 shots and the draw is available at 4/1.
Qarabag are unlikely to ring the changes but Toral Bayramov could come in at right-back for Matheus Silva.
Alonso, meanwhile, is expected to shuffle the Bayer Leverkusen pack with the likes of Matej Kovar, Piero Hincapie, Nathan Tella and Amine Adli set to come in but Odilon Kossounou is sidelined.
Over 2.5 Bayer Leverkusen goals @ 6/5
Bayer Leverkusen ooze confidence right now and it would be a bold move to bet against them on matchday four in the Europa League.
They have won 14 of their 15 matches in all competitions with the only blot on their copybook – if you can even call it that – having been a 2-2 draw with Bayern Munich in the league.
They have been pushed closer in the league of late, having edged Wolfsburg, Freiburg and Hoffenheim by single-goal margins in each of their last three Bundesliga fixtures.
But they still look formidable and have averaged three goals per game in the German top flight.
There is little value in backing an away win but a bet on Leverkusen to score at least three goals could be profitable at 6/5.
Free-flowing attacking football has been the name of the game for Die Werkself, who have won all three of their matches in Group H by an aggregate scoreline of 11-2.
They smashed Qarabag 5-1 at the Bay Arena last month and, while it could be a tougher game at the Tofiq Bahramov Stadium, Leverkusen should still be fancied to rack up the goals.
Florian Wirtz to score at anytime @ 21/10
Victor Boniface is often the focal point of their attack, while flying wing-back Alex Grimaldo has also been in the goals, but it is attacking midfielder Florian Wirtz who ties everything together for Leverkusen.
The 20-year-old starlet got on the scoresheet in Saturday’s 3-2 win away to Hoffenheim, scoring after just nine minutes, and he has scored twice in the Europa League this season.
He has also laid on four assists in the competition and is usually involved in anything positive Leverkusen produce, so back him to find the net at any time at 21/10.
